Victims’ Awareness Week 2025

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Victim Support Scotland on 40 years of supporting victims and witnesses of any type of crime, through their service, which is powered by volunteers in communities all across Scotland; recognises the practical and emotional support that, it understands, has been offered to over 18,000 people in 2024 alone, helping them to know that there can be a way forward; notes that Victims’ Awareness Week 2025 runs from 21 to 28 February, with the theme "Listen. Act. Hope."; highlights what it sees as the value of listening to victims' voices in a complex system, and encourages anyone affected by crime to seek guidance and support from Victim Support Scotland.
