Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Blue Triangle
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Blue Triangle on its 50th anniversary; understands that Blue Triangle was established in 1975 as a hostel for young single women in Glasgow and has now grown into 29 services across 10 local authorities, supporting over 400 people across Scotland every day; notes that Blue Triangle became an independent charity in 1991; acknowledges what it sees as the tireless work of CEO Gary Meek and its network of trauma-informed staff and volunteers to provide safe spaces, round-the-clock support and opportunities for supported people to thrive; understands that it is holding a number of events to raise awareness of its work amid a major housing emergency, and wishes it well as it starts its next half century.
