Seachdain na Gàidhlig 2025

That the Parliament recognises that 24 February to 2 March 2025 marks World Gaelic Week; understands that World Gaelic Week, which was established in 2022, provides an opportunity for Gaelic to be celebrated across the globe; appreciates that the initiative aims to raise the profile of the Gaelic language through wide-ranging community engagement efforts, such as workshops in schools, as well as an impressive programme of events, including dances, presentations, and accompanied walks; welcomes that World Gaelic Week offers opportunities for fluent speakers, learners, and those with an interest in picking up more Gaelic to develop their skills; understands that the theme for World Gaelic Week 2025 is "Building Connections", encouraging people to celebrate the ways in which language brings communities together, and wishes those organising or attending an event during this World Gaelic Week all the best.  The Member has provided the following Gaelic translation: Gu bheil a’ Phàrlamaid ag aithneachadh gu bheil 24 Gearran gu 2 Màrt 2025 a’ comharrachadh Seachdain na Gàidhlig; a’ tuigsinn gu bheil Seachdain na Gàidhlig, a chaidh a stèidheachadh ann an 2022, a’ toirt cothrom don Ghàidhlig a bhith air a comharrachadh air feadh na cruinne; a’ tuigsinn gu bheil an iomairt ag amas air ìomhaigh na Gàidhlig a thogail tro oidhirpean farsaing dol an sàs sa choimhearsnachd, leithid bùthan-obrach ann an sgoiltean, a bharrachd air prògram sgoinneil de thachartasan, a’ gabhail a-steach dannsan, taisbeanaidhean, agus cuairtean; a’ cur fàilte air gu bheil Seachdain na Gàidhlig a’ tabhann chothroman do dh’ fhileantaich, luchd-ionnsachaidh, agus dhaibhsan aig a bheil ùidh ann a bhith a’ togail barrachd Gàidhlig gus an sgilean a leasachadh; a’ tuigsinn gur e cuspair Seachdain na Gàidhlig 2025 ‘Building Connections,’ a’ brosnachadh dhaoine gus comharrachadh mar a tha cànan a’ toirt coimhearsnachdan còmhla, agus a’ guidhe gach soirbheachas dhaibhsan a bhios a’ cur air dòigh no a’ frithealadh tachartas aig Seachdain na Gàidhlig am-bliadhna.
