Milan Senior Welfare Organisation
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the work of Milan Senior Welfare Organisation in caring for people over 50 from South Asian communities in Edinburgh and the Lothians; understands that it provides services, including befriending, day care and support for unpaid carers; further understands that, on 20 February 2025, Milan hosted its annual community event at Portobello Town Hall, bringing together service users, supporters and community members for an afternoon of celebration, connection and cultural entertainment; notes that there were many live performances showcasing the vibrant culture shared by the area's South Asian communities; acknowledges what it sees as the tireless work of Milan in supporting people in South Asian communities to feel connected in their community, and hopes for the continued success of Milan Senior Welfare Organisation.
