The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Spartans Community Foundation on the opening of its new education and youth work space in Pilton, in the Edinburgh Northern and Leith constituency; understands that young people were central to informing the design of the new larger building, which includes two sensory rooms, a rooftop play area, a dinning-kitchen area and a large club room that will facilitate a range of activities; acknowledges that, as the demand for their education and youth work provision continues to grow, Spartans Community Foundation has created a space that will provide new opportunities for the organisation to engage with all ages as well as organisations from across the community, with an emphasis placed on creating a safe space where young people can have fun and positively develop as individuals; notes that the new building will enable the foundation to increase its social impact by growing its current education and youth work programmes, alongside the expansion and introduction of new programmes, such as the Matchday Squad and weekly Wee Connections Club for young people with assisted support needs; commends this initiative by Spartans Community Foundation to create this dedicated new education and youth work space, to better the lives of young people; congratulates the staff, board and volunteers at Spartans Community Foundation, and the funders, for what it sees as the organisation’s determination to provide innovative and creative solutions to assisting and supporting young people from across the northern Edinburgh community and beyond, and wishes Spartans Community Foundation every success for the future.
