1st & 6th Ayrshire (Irvine) Scout Group
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the successful relaunch of the 1st & 6th Ayrshire (Irvine) Scout Group following its temporary closure during the COVID-19 pandemic; notes what it believes is the strong demand for scouting in the area, with beavers and cubs operating at full capacity and a waiting list of 34 young people eager to join; supports the group’s plans to expand by establishing a squirrel drey for younger children and reactivating a scout section; believes that scouting has a positive impact on young people’s resilience, employability and leadership skills, and encourages more volunteers to come forward to help the movement continue to grow in Irvine.
