The motion

That the Parliament congratulates everyone involved with Aberdeen Youth Movement (AYM) on being awarded the 2025 Anne Frank Award from Action for a Fairer World and Grampian Regional Equality Council (GREC) in recognition of AYM’s commitment to children’s rights; understands that specific activities that the group is involved with relate to strands of the Anne Frank Award, including the awarding of grants to address inequality to benefit groups in Aberdeen; recognises that AYM also does a considerable amount to raise awareness of, and participate in, local and national democracy; understands that the Anne Frank Awards are run by GREC to celebrate the work carried out by young people to promote equality and human rights in their schools and wider communities; believes that AYM is the official voice of young people aged between 14 and 25 in Aberdeen, working closely with multiple organisations to improve the representation of young people in the city; commends the efforts of all members of AYM, and wishes them the best of luck with their next ventures.
