Education Scotland Delivers Excellent Inspection Report for St Joseph's Primary School in Eastwood

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates St Joseph's Primary School in the Busby area of Eastwood on receiving what it believes is a hugely impressive Education Scotland report; understands that a group of assessors from the executive agency attended St Joseph's during January 2025 to speak with parents, carers and pupils and engage closely with staff, including the headteacher; recognises that the Education Scotland inspectors identified a range of strengths at St Joseph's, including very strong leadership from the headteacher, supported by the depute headteacher, staff who work extremely well together as a team, pupils who are independent and successful learners with a sense of pride in their school, and the establishment of an educational environment where children are confident, secure and able to develop key skills; acknowledges that, on each of the four quality indicators of leadership of change, learning, teaching and assessment, ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion, and raising attainment and achievement, St Jospeh's Primary was rated as very good; notes that St Joseph's joins St Cadoc's Primary and Nursery, Kirkhill Primary, Braidbar Primary and Nursery Class and the Hazeldene Family Learning Centre in the list of Eastwood primary schools and nurseries to be awarded what it considers to be a very strong set of results from an Education Scotland inspection over the previous two years, and commends pupils, staff and everyone associated with St Joseph's Primary School for such a positive Education Scotland report and achieving the grade of very good in the four quality indicators.
