Battlefield Primary School Family Fundraising Group

The motion

That the Parliament commends what it sees as the valuable work of Battlefield Primary School’s Family Fundraising Group; recognises that pupils and their families are seeking to raise £30,000 to make much-needed improvements to the playground at the school using the only Glasgow City Council-approved supplier that has tendered for the project; understands that there is currently no outdoor play equipment at the school and that a wall in the playground is in urgent need of repair; believes that outdoor play has a positive impact on attendance, behaviour and learning; congratulates all involved in the fundraising effort, including two parents who raised £4,300 by running 500km; notes that a family bake sale has raised nearly £400 and a number of pupils have set themselves fundraising challenges, and wishes all involved in this fundraising effort, including members of the Battlefield community, well in raising the funds necessary to improve outdoor play facilities at Battlefield Primary School.
