Irvine Running Club Centenary Book
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Irvine Running Club on reaching its centenary year; acknowledges the release of a new book by Andy Rennie, with contributions from long-standing club member Brian Craig, which charts the club’s remarkable history from its founding as Irvine YMCA Harriers in 1924 through its evolution to Irvine Athletic Club in 1972 and then to Irvine Running Club in 2013; recognises the club’s achievements in adapting to social change and fostering a thriving running community over the decades; commends the inclusion of over 250 photos and personal testimonials in the book, capturing the club’s legacy and spirit, and wishes Irvine Running Club continued success in the years ahead.
