Salman Javed Recognised at the Scottish Local Retailer Above and Beyond Awards 2025

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Salman Javed on the recognition that he received at the Scottish Local Retailer’s Above and Beyond Awards 2025; recognises that the Above and Beyond Awards seek to recognise the staff at local convenience stores who strive to make a positive difference within their own store and the wider community; understands that Salman received his award within the Astonishing Act category; recognises that Salman was shortlisted for the award following his heroic actions assisting a member of the community who experienced a medical emergency at the Javed family’s local Alloa Road shop, by utilising the store’s community defibrillator; notes that the awards were presented to recipients during a celebratory lunch held in Glasgow on 12 March 2025; congratulates Salman once more on winning this award, and thanks him for the hard work and extra effort that he puts into delivering a stellar service to his local community.
