Financial Fairness Trust Report

That the Parliament acknowledges the findings of the abrdn Financial Fairness Trust report, Scottish Household Finances: An overview of financial wellbeing in Scotland; notes that the report states that 32% of Scotland's households report having no savings, an increase of 3% since 2023, with 14% stating that they are "very worried" about their financial situation over the next 12 months; further notes the finding that 36% of households feel that they have no control over their financial situation, with 35% reporting poor sleep due to financial worries and 37% indicating their financial situation is causing their mental health to deteriorate; believes that these findings are an indictment of what it sees as the poor state of the economy thanks to decades of mismanagement from UK administrations of all hues, a situation that it considers is being exacerbated by the UK Labour administration's reductions to the winter fuel payment and reported planned £6 billion reduction to the welfare budget, and further believes that this is evidence that Scotland is not being served well by the union and that the only way to ensure the people of Scotland can prosper is with the full powers of independence.
