The motion

That the Parliament congratulates African Women's Group Scotland (AWGS), based in Aberdeen, on receiving an unrestricted grant of £40,000 from the Corra Foundation to deliver work supporting women and girls; notes that AWGS, which was founded in 1994, is dedicated to reducing isolation and empowering African women living in Scotland and the diaspora; understands that AWGS deliver cultural events and monthly meetings, which support women from the African Caribbean community with issues that are impacting their lives, including health, wellbeing, employment and work; believes that this grant will go towards improving the everyday lives of African women in Scotland and beyond, helping to build a community where every woman can thrive and achieve her full potential, and thanks all those at AWGS for their hard work and commitment in supporting the women who use its services, as well as the Corra Foundation for making this grant possible.
