Fletcher of Saltoun Awards 2025
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges the Saltire Society presenting its annual Fletcherof Saltoun Awards on 6 March 2025; understands that the awards, which werepresented at a ceremony in Edinburgh’s New Town, recognise innovators andentrepreneurs in Scottish culture; congratulates the winners, including theaward-winning film and television composer, Patrick Doyle, who won the Awardfor Arts and Humanities, Professor Lorna Dawson CBE, FRSE who won the Award forScience, scientist and human rights activist, Sir Geoff Palmer, and thebroadcaster, filmmaker and writer, Paul Murton, who won an Award for PublicLife; understands that the Saltire Society was founded in 1936 and aims topromote the understanding of culture and heritage in Scotland; welcomesrecognition of those who make great contributions to culture and public life, andwishes the award winners and the Saltire Society well.
