Isobel Mair School Delivers Two Winning Entries in National Garden Competition

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates pupils from Isobel Mair School, which is in Newton Mearns, on achieving success in a national gardening competition; understands that the efforts of the young people at Isobel Mair delivered two winning entries in the P5-S2 category among the 32 designs chosen for receipt of the commendation and as part of the Pocket Garden Design Competition for 2025; acknowledges that the project involved pupils in Scotland creating miniature, pocket-sized, gardens with the designs focused on edible plants, environments to attract wildlife and the reuse of materials that would otherwise not be retained, and recognises that Keep Scotland Beautiful organised the competition and its goal was to connect young people with food, nature and heritage, alongside motivating pupils to learn about sustainability.
