Team of Female Pupils from Mearns Castle High Win Respected Investment Competition

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates a team of six female pupils from Mearns Castle High School on winning what it sees as a prestigious investment competition; recognises that the pupils won the junior category prize at the Growing Future Assets Investment Competition by making a pitch on the cybersecurity business, Palo Alto Networks; understands that the competition is part of a larger project by Future Asset to provide opportunities for girls in Scotland to learn about investment management and to consider pursuing it as a career; acknowledges that there were a total of 147 entries for the 2024-25 competition, with eight schools chosen to participate in the finals; understands that, as part of the competition, each team was mentored by an investment professional over a 10-week period, and congratulates the pupils from Mearns Castle on their achievement in winning the junior category award.
