Clydebank Groups Receive £250,000 in National Lottery Community Funding
The motion
That the Parliament commends seven groups across Clydebank for securing £252,595 from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that Improving Lives in Dalmuir received £20,000, which will be used to fund a Digital Communications Worker; notes that Dalmuir Barclay Church received £20,000 to help support fuel costs for its volunteer-run warm space, as well as one-off help for fuels costs for individuals attending who are struggling financially; understands that Bags Full of Love also received £20,000, which will be used to help the charity keep a stock of new clothing and personal items such as new backpacks for children attending school; further understands that Community Links Scotland received £149,920 to help it continue delivering a programme of activities to bring together socially isolated and vulnerable groups; notes that Kilpatrick School received £16,200 to help increase the number of children with severe and complex needs that can benefit from Nordoff Music Therapy at the school, with an estimated 180 children and young people benefiting from this over two years; further notes that Faifley and Duntocher Parish Church received £19,661 to revamp its hall, which is used for community activities; recognises that Aspire 2 received £6,814, which will allow the group to reduce the costs of participation and extend the range of activities on offer to people in its area who are struggling with the mental health challenges of loneliness and isolation, and congratulates all staff and volunteers who have helped to secure this vital funding for their organisations as they continue their amazing work in making the local community a greater place.
