Congratulations to Befriend a Child

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Aberdeen charity, Befriend a Child, on raising £52,847.25 at its recent Barbie Boozy Brunch events; understands that the events, held over two days at the Marcliffe hotel, brought together hundreds of supporters, dressed in pink, for two days of hospitality, entertainment and laughter; notes that Befriend a Child works with over 250 children across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, many of whom face challenges such as abuse, neglect, bereavement, parental substance misuse or social isolation; believes that the funds raised by those attending the event will be put to good use supporting children who are growing up in challenging circumstances; thanks the organisers and the event’s sponsors for their efforts in raising these funds, and wishes Befriend a Child all the best with their future fundraising endeavours.
