Care Home Regional Directors Compete in Charity Cook-off

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the staff and residents at Four Hills Care Home in Ruchill, Glasgow, on their enthusiastic support for regional directors Wendy McGowan and Dannie Tsoneva, as they prepare to participate in the Barchester Charitable Foundation Cook Off 2025; acknowledges the directors' dedication in stepping out of their comfort zones, swapping business suits for chefs’ whites, to raise funds for the foundation, which provides vital grants to support vulnerable people and those living with disabilities; recognises what it sees as the invaluable work of the foundation in enhancing mobility and quality of life for individuals and small community groups across Scotland; notes what it sees as the significance of corporate social responsibility initiatives such as the Cook Off in fostering community engagement and supporting charitable causes; further notes that, in 2024, the foundation reached an impressive milestone of donating £335,000, supporting 239 groups and 104 individuals; applauds the enthusiasm and hard work of Wendy and Dannie, who have been diligently preparing for the competition; commends what it sees as their commitment to making a positive difference, and wishes them every success in the Cook Off, while celebrating the spirit of generosity and community that events like this inspire.
