St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School's Achievement in the START Competition

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the all-female team from St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School in Glasgow on winning the 2025 START competition; understands that its innovative jewellery design aims to protect women, demonstrating both creativity and a commitment to social responsibility; notes that the START competition provides Scottish schools with the experience of participating in a business start-up incubator; believes that it is important to encourage young women to engage in engineering and design; commends the students and staff of St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School for their outstanding achievement; notes that the START competition offers students practical experience in entrepreneurship and innovation, fostering essential skills for future careers; recognises what it sees as the significance of initiatives that bridge academic learning with real-world application, and encourages continued support for programmes that promote diversity and inclusion within the engineering and design sectors.
