Celebrating Woodside Hall's 100th Anniversary
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Woodside Hall on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; recognises what it considers to be the hall's invaluable contribution to the cultural and social fabric of the Glasgow West End community; acknowledges its rich history as a venue that has hosted countless events, gatherings and celebrations over the past century; understands the significance of this milestone in celebrating the hall's enduring legacy; notes the upcoming Woodside Hall 100th Anniversary Cultural Fundraising Event on 2 May 2025, which will bring together an array of talented performers, including The Folk Drama, The Tenementals, Abhinaya Dance Academy and the Taiko Drummers, as well as a special Bob Marley tribute from the Glasgow Reggae Club and spoken word performances from local poet, Bob McInally; welcomes that the event will also include Mandy Edwards' Doon the Watter photography exhibition, which captures the essence of life along the River Clyde, and celebrates the region's heritage; commends the organisers for their dedication to creating an inclusive and memorable evening with all proceeds going to support the Woodside Community Fridge to help tackle food insecurity and support families in need, and wishes all those attending and participating a successful and joyous celebration.
