University of Strathclyde Retains the Glasgow Taxis Cup

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the University of Strathclyde on retaining the Glasgow Taxis Cup for the third time since 2022; recognises what it sees as the significance of the event as Scotland's largest student varsity sporting competition, with over 700 students participating across 17 different sporting disciplines; acknowledges the hard-fought competition and the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by all participants, including from the University of Glasgow and Glasgow Caledonian University; notes the contribution of volunteers, supporters and organisers who worked behind the scenes to ensure the event’s success; commends the exciting and inclusive atmosphere generated by the event, which celebrated not only the competitive nature of university sport, but also the sense of community and togetherness that it fostered; congratulates Dougie McPherson, Chairman of Glasgow Taxis, for his continued support of the event, which it considers has been instrumental in its success, and wishes the University of Strathclyde continued success in future editions of the Glasgow Taxis Cup.
