WSHA Launches New Community Space for Cowlairs and Springburn Residents

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) and its charitable subsidiary, Willowacre Trust, on the official launch of a new community space for residents of Cowlairs and Springburn in North Glasgow; notes that the community flat on Keppochhill Road will provide a vital hub for local residents, offering support and activities including digital inclusion, money and debt advice, and community-led initiatives; believes that WSHA makes a significant contribution by providing around 500 homes in the area, including sheltered housing; commends the work of Willowacre Trust in relation to securing funding and delivering community services, and acknowledges the dedication of outgoing WSHA chief executive Brian Gannon, whose commitment to reinstating a community space for Cowlairs, it believes, has culminated in this important facility, benefitting the local community for years to come.
