Ben Malcolm, Mackie Academy Pupil Wins Regional Final of the Rotary Young Chef Competition
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Ben Malcolm, an S4 pupil at Mackie Academy in Stonehaven, on winning the regional final of the Rotary Young Chef competition; understands that Ben presented dishes of pan-seared cod on ratatouille with crispy kale and saffron potatoes, as well as a white chocolate cheesecake and mixed berry compote, to win his place in the final in London; notes that the competition is organised by Rotary International of Great Britain and Ireland, with four stages to the competition, with each stage designed to support and encourage the development of young people’s culinary skills and confidence; recognises that Ben’s love for cooking has been supported by his family and home economics teacher, Miss Kirsty Wilson, and wishes Ben every success as he embarks on his culinary journey.
