St Columbkille’s Parishioners Awarded Benemerenti Medals

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates parishioners from St Columbkille’s Church in Rutherglen on recently being presented with Benemerenti Medals by Bishop Toal; understands that the medals are awarded through the Pope, to show his recognition of individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the church; notes that the recipients from St Columbkille’s are Michael and Aileen Dunne, for their many years of service to the music ministry, Jim Gallagher, for his many years of service and his presidency of the parish conference of the Scottish Society of St Vincent de Paul, and Isobel McCormick, for her many years of service to ecclesiastical needlework and her work with the Little Sisters of the Poor, and commends them all for their service to the church and their wider communities.
