Welcoming the Launch of Youth Project in Glasgow City Centre

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of Common Ground, a youth-focused project in Glasgow city centre designed to provide a safe, welcoming space for young people while also offering street outreach support; notes that the project is led by Barnardo’s and is a partnership between Barnardo’s, Aberlour, Action for Children, Right There and the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit, to ensure that young people feel safe, supported and connected to the help that they need; understands that the project will run for 12 weeks from 25 March 2025 as a test of changes made in response to consultation with young people; recognises that the project is supported by Police Scotland, British Transport Police, Network Rail and Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership, with partners from Renfrewshire Council and North Lanarkshire Council on the steering group, and wishes all those involved in the project success.
