ScotRail and Network Rail Fundraise £332,000 for Age Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the railway team and its dedicated staff and customers for what it sees as their outstanding support for older people; acknowledges that ScotRail and Network Rail contributed almost £332,000 to Age Scotland over the past 12 months through a wide range of fundraising initiatives, including bucket collections, customer donations via delay repay contributions, and staff-led events, such as bake sales, craft fairs, musical performances, auctions, raffles and various challenging activities; recognises what it sees as the successful partnership with Age Scotland, which has been instrumental in addressing loneliness and enhancing social inclusion through services such as Friendship Calling, and by providing complimentary travel to the charity’s employees; notes what it sees as the significant impact of a comprehensive brand awareness campaign that featured television advertisements, posters and promotional displays across trains and stations, and believes that these combined efforts exemplify remarkable community engagement and commitment to supporting older people, helping to ensure that they receive the recognition, assistance, and empowerment they deserve.
