The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Scottish Sports Futures (SSF), which is a Glasgow-based youth charity supporting young people across some of Scotland’s most challenged communities, on being awarded £20,000 through the Aviva UK Broker Community Fund Award 2025, the highest possible award available; understands that this funding will be used to support the Twilight initiative, a free programme of multi-sport activity and youth work delivered directly within communities affected by deprivation and crime; notes that the initiative provides a safe and supportive environment for young people aged 7 to 19, and aims to improve physical, mental and social wellbeing, build confidence and provide access to positive role models; believes that the Twilight sessions play a crucial role in reducing antisocial and risk-taking behaviour by offering meaningful alternatives and support to young people, and acknowledges the dedication of the SSF team in delivering what it sees as life-changing opportunities and support to young people who may otherwise fall through the cracks.
