Glasgow Dance School Heading to Hollywood

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Compass Company Acro & Dance, based in Shettleston, Glasgow, on being selected to represent Scotland at Dance Excellence 2026 in Los Angeles; notes that the prestigious international festival will take place at CityWalk in Universal Studios and will bring together young dancers from over 40 countries; acknowledges that 15 dancers from Compass, aged between eight and 16, will have the opportunity to participate in masterclasses, workshops and competitions led by world-renowned choreographers; recognises the dedication and talent of directors, Callie Cowden and Chloe Bennet, whose leadership has helped build the school’s success since its founding just three years ago; understands that Compass was recently named Best Dance Group at the 2025 Regional Scottish Business Awards and is now a finalist in the National Scottish Business Awards, and sends its best wishes to the entire Compass team as it prepares for what is described as a once-in-a-lifetime experience representing Glasgow, Shettleston, and Scotland, on the international stage.
