The motion

That the Parliament congratulates St Mark's Primary School on its allocation of funds from the Urban Forestry Programme Challenge Fund; acknowledges that the programme is managed by the Future Woodlands Scotland charity; understands that this charity is instrumental in promoting the introduction of green spaces into dense urban areas aiming for better quality of life; commends St Mark’s for being one of seven schools that has been awarded a share of more than £450,000 and notes that the school achieved this through its project, Planting Our way to a Better Future; understands that the aim of this project was to plant a vast variety of trees throughout the entire grounds of the school to promote a number of positive environmental habits from the pupils, and believes that this initiative is not only valuable for its environmental purposes, but hopes that this may help to contribute to positive mental and physical health outcomes for pupils in the school and wider area.
