Tea in the Pot's 20th Anniversary
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Tea in the Pot (TITP), a drop-in support service based in Govan on its 20th anniversary; understands that the service provides a safe and relaxing atmosphere where women can meet up with old friends or make new ones, and assists women who may be coping with difficulties, are under stress, have health issues, or simply feel isolated; commends its ongoing work to support women to become actively engaged in the community, and to enable women to identify and value their skills, experiences and talents, and to feel empowered and confident to share these with others; recognises that the day-to-day running of TITP has been undertaken entirely by volunteers, who are all longer-term members who seek to use their own positive experiences within the group to foster engagement and positive development for newer members; acknowledges that TITP has improvised a space that, it understands, has brought significant benefits to its members and to the wider Govan community, all on the basis of very limited resources; understands that recent donations and grants have significantly helped in assisting with services and programmes for members, and wishes everyone at Tea in the Pot all the very best for the future.
