Beat the Street Carrick Success

The motion

That the Parliament commends the work of Beat the Street Carrick, an interactive travel game that encourages walking, cycling and wheeling to get people moving, on a hugely successful programme; understands that Beat the Street was delivered from 12 February to 12 March 2025 in Dunure, Maybole, Maidens, Kirkmichael, Girvan, Ballantrae, Straiton, Colmonell, Barrhill, Dailly, Crosshill, Minishant and Kirkoswald; further understands that funding was provided by Paths for All's Community Transition Fund to Culzean Primary School and that the project was delivered by Intelligent Health on behalf of South Ayrshire Council; notes that over the four-week programme, there were 3,276 players, equating to over one fifth of the population of Carrick taking part, and that 40,554 collective miles were achieved through walking, wheeling and cycling; commends the work of all those involved in Beat the Street across Carrick, and wishes them every success in their future initiatives.
