24-hour Challenge at Stevenson's Ardeer Golf Course
The motion
That the Parliament commends the Irvine residents, Russell Campbell and Malcolm Lynn, with their friend, Allan Hill, from Barmill, for undertaking a 24-hour golf challenge at Ardeer Golf Club in aid of AMMF, the UK’s only cholangiocarcinoma charity; notes that the trio are aiming to play over 100 holes and walk more than 120 miles combined from 7.00 am on 20 June 2025 to 7.00 am the following day, joined by guest players throughout; understands that their efforts are inspired by a member of Russell's family who is currently undergoing treatment following a diagnosis of ampullary cancer; acknowledges what it sees as the significance of AMMF’s work in raising awareness, supporting research and improving outcomes for those affected by bile duct cancer, and applauds the players’ achievement in raising over £2,500 ahead of the challenge in support of what it sees as this vital cause.
