Walk to School Week 2025
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes Walk to School Week 2025, which takes place from 19 to 23 May, as part of National Walking Month; recognises the work of Living Streets Scotland in encouraging children and families across the country to walk to school, promoting healthier lifestyles, reducing traffic congestion and lowering carbon emissions; notes the creative theme of this year’s campaign, “The Great Space Walk”, using intergalactic adventure to inspire pupils to consider the environmental and health benefits of walking; encourages continued support for initiatives that promote safe, active travel for children, and commends all those involved in making walking a natural choice for everyday journeys.
