Moray and Banffshire Primary School Teacher of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Caroline Ferguson of Findochty Primary School on being named Primary School Teacher of the Year at the 2025 Moray and Banffshire Heroes Awards, which were held at the Banff Springs Hotel; recognises what it sees as Caroline’s outstanding commitment to her pupils’ learning and wellbeing, including her efforts to foster a love of reading and create inclusive, screen-free opportunities for social connection; further recognises her heartfelt dedication expressed in her words “this is for the children”, which, it believes, captures the spirit of her teaching; commends the whole staff team at Findochty Primary School for its ongoing work to deliver high-quality education, nurture young minds, and create a warm, welcoming school community, and celebrates this richly deserved recognition as a testament to the transformative impact of great teachers and schools across Banffshire and Buchan Coast.
