Congratulating Aberdeen Football Club
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the famous Aberdeen FC on its incredible win against Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden on 24 May 2025; notes that this is the eighth time that Aberdeen has lifted the Scottish Cup in its history, and the first time since 1990; recognises that this achievement has come in Jimmy Thelin's first season in charge of the Dons; understands that Aberdeen won 4-3 on penalties after goalkeeper, Dimitar Mitov, saved two penalties from Celtic, with Captain Graeme Shinnie, Dante Polvara, Oday Dabbagh and Ante Palaversa all successfully scoring their penalties; believes that every single player in the squad deserves to be lauded as heroes by the people of Aberdeen, and hopes that more success will follow very shortly.
