Recognising the Person-centred Delivery of Care at Carrondale Care Home

That the Parliament recognises the work of staff at Carrondale Care Home, who, it believes, strive on a daily basis to provide the highest levels of person-centred care; understands that, with support from its partners, Falkirk Council and Forth Valley College, the fantastic team at Carrondale has organised learning opportunities for the residents, many of whom have complex conditions, to achieve a level 2 qualification through the Multiply Maths programme, with several residents going on to achieve their level 3 and obtaining an SQA qualification; further understands that, in its determination to reduce barriers and improve opportunities for residents, Carrondale has obtained funding for 12 months to facilitate further study at the college through courses on English, cookery and information technology, open to all residents who wish to explore further education and enhance their skills; notes the recent efforts of the team to mark a special centenarian birthday for Margaret Forest, who turned 100 on 4 April 2025, surrounded by her family; understands that celebrations included the delivery of a bouquet of flowers from Falkirk’s provost, Robert Bissett, and an incredible performance from the Jenkins School of Highland Dancers; congratulates Linda Stewart, Carrondale’s wellbeing co-ordinator, on her recent shortlisting for the Dementia Care Awards 2025, and the recognition that she has received for her efforts to support those living with dementia and learning disabilities, and wishes her the best of luck at the upcoming award ceremony taking place in London on 19 June 2025; recognises the team at Carrondale for its continued hard work and dedication to fulfilling what is a highly skilled role, and wishes all staff and residents the best for the future.
