The Codfather Wins Fish and Chip Shop of the Year
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates all at The Codfather in Buckie on being named Fish and Chip Shop of the Year at the prestigious Fishing News Awards 2024; notes that this newly introduced category was created to recognise those fish and chip shops going the extra mile to source UK-caught fish, supporting local fishermen and sustainable practices; commends The Codfather’s commitment to quality, traceability and local sourcing; notes what it sees as the significance of this award being presented on the eve of the 80th anniversary of VE Day, underlining the enduring importance of locally supplied food to the resilience and food security, and celebrates owner, Jason Stewart, and his team for putting Buckie on the map as a champion of local seafood and community pride in Banffshire and Buchan Coast.
