Aberdeen Big Sing 2025

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates P4 pupils across Aberdeen, including those in Aberdeen Donside, for their participation in Aberdeen City Council’s Aberdeen Big Sing 2025 event, which was held in Duthie Park for a third successive year on 28 May 2025; understands that the event saw an impressive 3,000 pupils from schools across Aberdeen come together to sing as one choir; notes that the event saw children sing a set of eight songs, many of which were themed around the sea, to celebrate Aberdeen’s role as host of The Tall Ships Race in July 2025; understands that the children were accompanied by the Big Sing Band, which is made up of Aberdeen City music service and Robert Gordon College pupils, Charleston School and Ashley Road School Woodwind Ensembles and the Robert Gordon College Pipe Band; understands that this year also saw P4 pupils from five schools in Aberdeen’s twin city, Clermont-Ferrand, participate in the event, providing an opportunity to link up prior to The Tall Ships, which is set to travel from Dunkirk to Aberdeen; commends the efforts of all who participated in this year’s event, and looks forward to future Aberdeen Big Sing events.
