Aberdeen FC Wins Scottish Cup
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Aberdeen FC on winning the 2025 Scottish Cup final at Hampden on 24 May 2025; understands that the win ends the club’s 35-year wait for the trophy, having last won it in 1990; notes that Aberdeen beat Celtic in a nail-biting 4-3 penalty shoot out; believes that between 80,000 and 100,000 Dons fans descended on the Granite City to watch the open-top bus parade and celebrate the triumph; understands that, as a result of the victory parade, Aberdeen businesses have reported an increase in trade, with some reportedly increasing trade fivefold; believes that both the victory at Hampden and the victory parade have renewed a sense of pride and passion within the Granite City and allow everyone involved with the club to create memories to last a lifetime, and congratulates the club’s players, staff and supporters on a fantastic victory.
