New MRI Scanner to Come to Orkney on 10-month Trial
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the arrival of a new MRI scanner at Orkney’s Balfour hospital; understands that the MRI scanner will be in place at the Balfour until March 2026 as part of a 10-month trial; believes that the MRI scanner will result in a significant reduction in travel and waiting times for many Orkney patients, who previously would have had to travel to the Scottish mainland for scans; looks forward to the MRI scanner enabling NHS Orkney staff to provide an even better level of service to patients, and hopes this will pave the way for ongoing provision into the future.
