Aberdeen - Scotland's Most Entrepreneurial City
The motion
That the Parliament notes research from the GoDaddy Small Business Research Lab, which shows that Aberdeen is Scotland’s most entrepreneurial city; understands that the research, which ranks UK cities for microbusiness growth, gave Aberdeen a year-over-year change in microbusiness density score of 5.93%, making it the highest-ranked city outside of London; further understands that the multi-year research initiative analyses over 680,000 small businesses that typically employ less than 10 people, and measures the concentration of small businesses against population size; believes that schemes, such as the Business Start-Up Grant Scheme launched by the SNP-led Aberdeen City Council administration in 2024, have contributed to making Aberdeen a good environment for start-ups, and hopes that small businesses in Aberdeen continue to flourish and thrive.
