The motion

That the Parliament congratulates The Funky Natz Foundation on raising a record-breaking £16,153 at its annual charity golf tournament, which was held at Wishaw Golf Club in memory of 11-year-old Natalie Hughes, who tragically passed away in March 2011 due to epilepsy; recognises the dedication of Natalie’s parents, Eileen and Eddie Hughes, in establishing the Foundation to raise awareness and support for epilepsy-related causes; notes that this year's tournament featured a top prize of a brand new car, generously sponsored by Park’s Renault Motherwell, for a hole-in-one challenge, and that the event was supported by other sponsors, including KPP Chartered Accountants, Watson Towers, Natgem Ltd and Halls Coaches; commends the winning team of Liam McGarry and Paul McMahon, runners-up Tam Wotherspoon and Grant Robertson, and third-placed Brian Donahue and George Campbell; acknowledges the efforts of all participants, supporters and committee members in helping the Foundation raise over £175,000 to date; notes what it sees as the importance of raising awareness of epilepsy, a condition that affects approximately 1 in 97 people in Scotland; recognises what it sees as the Scottish Government's commitment to improving services and support for individuals with epilepsy, including, it understands, initiatives to enhance diagnosis, treatment, and public understanding, and calls for continued efforts to promote epilepsy awareness and ensure that individuals living with the condition receive the support that they need.
