Calling for Exclusion of Belarus from UEFA Competitions
The motion
That the Parliament recognises what it considers to be the serious human rights violations reportedly committed by the Belarusian regime, and what it sees as the regime's complicity in Russia’s illegal war against Ukraine; notes what it believes is the inconsistency in UEFA’s current approach to Belarus’s continued participation, despite previous decisive action against Russia; believes that sport can play a role in promoting peace, respect and human dignity, and calls on UEFA to uphold its values of unity and fair play by suspending Belarus from its competitions until it ceases what it sees as its support for aggression and addresses what it considers to be widespread human rights abuses.
