Queen Margaret University Named Higher Education Institute of the Year
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Queen Margaret University (QMU) on being named Higher Education Institute of the Year at The Herald Higher Education Awards 2025; understands that the award recognises its commitment to academic excellence, community engagement, inclusion, innovation and student support; notes that 2025 is the 150th anniversary of QMU, to be marked by events bringing alumni and current students together; understands that QMU also won awards for Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community, and Outstanding Contribution from a Staff Member; believes that QMU is a vitally important institution in Lothian and Scotland for research, education and the economy, and wishes students and staff at QMU well.
