Celebrating 30 Years of Lanarkshire Carers
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Lanarkshire Carers on its 30th anniversary; celebrates its inspiring journey from a small group of carers in 1995 to a carer-led charity supporting over 16,000 unpaid carers across South and North Lanarkshire; commends Lanarkshire Carers' unwavering commitment to empowering carers through advice, advocacy, wellbeing support and peer connection; acknowledges the ongoing inequalities faced by unpaid carers, including a greater risk of poverty, isolation and poor health; agrees that all unpaid careers deserve to be heard, valued and supported to live fulfilled lives, and thanks all unpaid carers and local carer organisations across Scotland for the valued contribution that they make to communities.
