The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the opening of Chemify’s first Chemifarm facility in Maryhill, Glasgow, which, it understands, has been described as the world’s most advanced laboratory for molecular design and synthesis; understands that the 21,500 sq ft facility integrates artificial intelligence with industrial-scale robotic synthesis to accelerate the development of small-molecule medicines and next-generation materials; believes that this pioneering site will create 60 new jobs and safeguard over 50 existing roles, strengthening Glasgow’s position as a centre for technological innovation and supporting the local economy; acknowledges that Chemify is a 2022 spin-out from the University of Glasgow, built on the research of Professor Lee Cronin in digital chemistry, and recognises what it sees as the significant contribution of Scottish academic and industrial collaboration in driving forward global scientific progress and economic growth.
