Launch of Clacks Keys Mental Health Campaign for Young People

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the Clacks Keys mental health campaign by, and for, young people in Clackmannanshire; recognises that the campaign, launched on 25 June 2025 at The Hive in Alloa, aims to empower young people to access mental health support and have open conversations about mental wellbeing with peers and adults in their lives; acknowledges the significant contribution of pupils from Alloa Academy, who played a central role in developing the campaign messages and materials; notes that the campaign was co-produced by young people aged 12 to 14 in partnership with NSPCC Scotland and the Clackmannanshire Family Wellbeing Partnership; further notes that the campaign was informed by data from Planet Youth, Plan International and Childline, which highlighted an urgent need to improve access to mental health services for young people in Scotland; acknowledges the contributions of speakers, including DJ Scooby and Rachel Talbot, who shared personal stories about the importance of early mental health intervention; understands that the campaign includes the distribution of resources such as flyers, mindfulness colouring sheets and videos developed in collaboration with Childline; commends the courage, creativity and leadership shown by the young people behind Clacks Keys, particularly those from Alloa Academy, and supports efforts to make mental health support more accessible, youth-led and stigma-free across Scotland.
