DH9 Foundation's Fundraising Work for Defibrillators and CPR Training in Schools

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the ongoing work of the DH9 Foundation, which wasestablished to highlight the awareness of young sudden cardiac death;recognises that the aim of the foundation is to raise awareness of young suddencardiac death and provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training anddefibrillators to schools and community organisations; commends the foundationin completing over 60 training sessions and training over 1,000 young peopleand adults in 2025; understands that through its community fundraisers, it hasinstalled 47 defibrillators throughout Dumfries and Galloway; applauds the WeeEmma Campaign, led by Emma Currie from Cargenbridge, Criffel Climb led by IanCorsan from Locharbriggs and Synergy Gym, and Nicole Hunter from Kirkcudbrightfor all their fundraising efforts to enable the distribution of these vitalpieces of equipment; congratulates the DH9 Foundation, which was founded byRodger and Lesley Hill in memory of Rodger’s son, David Hill, who diedfollowing a cardiac arrest at the age of 30, and wishes them all the best inthe future for their campaign.
