Celebrating the Opening of Right There’s Dava Street Community Hub

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the new Right There community hub at 15 Dava Street, Glasgow; commends Right There, which is a Scottish charity working to prevent homelessness and build safe, stable and supportive lives, for creating this safe, inclusive and welcoming space for the local community; notes that the hub will operate on a drop-in basis, five days a week, and will provide free computer and internet access, hot drinks, signposting to other services, a school uniform clothing bank, a sensory room and a one-to-one support room; recognises that the hub will offer a range of community activities including coffee mornings, arts and crafts, wellbeing sessions, community meals, family events, peer support groups and skills workshops; praises the establishment of a Hub Committee to ensure that families and local people have a voice in shaping its activities and services; acknowledges what it sees as the important role that initiatives like this play in tackling isolation, building community connections and supporting people through difficult times, and wishes Right There, and everyone involved, every success in this important work.
